G9 Halogen Capsule Lamps and G9 Light Bulbs

The G9 halogen lamp is certainly one of the most popular light bulbs in the lighting industry today. Wall lights, ceiling lights, floor lamps and table lamps are just a few examples of where it is being used. It is also one of the smallest so enables some designs that were previously impossible to produce due to the light of the light bulb.

The main body is made from glass and it has two curved pins at the bottom which fit very easily into the lamp-holder they are being placed in. It's always advisable to never touch the glass part with your bare hands. Natural oils that we produce can seriously affect the life-time of the bulb as any oily residue on the glass section of the bulb can cause the filament to overheat and fail. Should you happen to accidentally touch the glass section of the bulb then you can remove the residue with a dry piece of kitchen towel but please unsure the bulb has fully cooled first.

Halogen G9 have been known to last for several thousand hours and the halogen version can be controlled with a standard dimmer switch, LED versions are not dimmable unless stated otherwise and might require special dimmer switches.
